PAC codes, STAC codes, and what Ofcom guarantees, whichever network you're leaving.

Keeping the number you've got

Text PAC to 65075 from your current phone. A free nine-character code lands by text within minutes, good for 30 days. Hand it to your new network and the move completes within a working day.

Leaving without taking your number

Text STAC to 75075 instead, if you don't need to keep the old number.

Checking what you're still tied into

Text INFO to 85075 for your remaining term, any exit charge, and the date your contract's actually free and clear.

This works the same way everywhere

Whichever of the seven networks you're moving to or from, it's the identical Ofcom-backed process, and none of them can legally stall or refuse it.

If a network won't hand over your PAC: that's against Ofcom's rules — worth reporting at ofcom.org.uk/complaints.
